The Center for Economic and Social Studies (CESS) is an independent, non-partisan think tank, which studies economic, social and demographic changes in Albania. CESS has become a main resource center of Albanian migration issues since its foundation in 1995.

The Center works jointly with other think tanks and civil society groups, as well as universities and research institutions in Western Europe, the United States, and the Balkans. Its work has been financially supported by international organizations

CESS is a member of two research networks: the Development Research Center on Migration Globalization and Poverty (DRC) since 2002, and the International Migration, Integration and Social Cohesion (IMISCOE) since January 2007.
